Winthrop Maine Historical Society See’s Candies Fall Fundraiser

Less than 3 weeks to purchase chocolate yumminess to benefit the Winthrop History and Heritage Center. All proceeds from this fundraiser will be used towards operating expenses.  

December 1st is the final day to order Christmas and Hanukkah themed wrapped boxes and candy items. This year even features a calorie free option with a Chocolate See’s Candies scented candle!

For those not familiar with See’s Candies, they are an iconic brand from California that is over 100 years old and owned by Warren Buffet’s company, Berkshire Hathaway.  He loved the Peanut Brittle so much that when he bought the company in 1972, he decided to start every stockholders meeting with his favorite sweet treat.  Also the iconic I Love Lucy skit featuring Lucy & Ethel making candies was based in a See’s Candies Chocolate Shop.
