On December 2nd, the Winthrop Maine Historical Society will participate in the Annual Holiday Parade sponsored by the Winthrop Area Chamber of Commerce. The float will be constructed on Thursday, November 30th at the Winthrop History and Heritage Center located at 107 Main Street, Winthrop.  The theme of the WMHS float this year will be Winthrop’s Bicentennial. Squire Winthrop will lead the way to replicating some of the features seen in the parade in 1971 that celebrated Winthrop’s 100th birthday, 50 years ago. All are welcome to join in the construction of the float and to walk or ride in the parade on the 2nd. Immediately after the Annual Winthrop Parade, Santa will come into the History Center to greet children, friends and family for photos. People can use their own phones or cameras to take pictures. Santa will stay until all the wishes are heard from those who stop in after the parade. Donations appreciated.
