Planning Board Associate Member vacancy

The Town is in search of a resident to serve on the Planning Board as an associate member for the remainder of the term expiring 12/31/2027. 

Serving on the Planning Board is an important contribution that shapes our community’s future.  It can be a very rewarding experience for a resident who is interested in trying to help the Town balance new development against the traditional character and quality of life in our community. 

Board members should be familiar with the ordinances and statutes they will be using before taking any official action.  Learning opportunities and training programs are provided through the Maine Municipal Association.  The Board meets at 7 pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. Meetings are generally two hours long.  Additionally, a significant time investment may be needed to review agenda items.

Associate members fully participate in board meetings, however, only vote when a regular member is absent or required to abstain from voting.
