Mooring Committee to meet for first time Aug. 17

The Town of Winthrop's ad-hoc Mooring Committee will have its first meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at the Town Office, 17 Highland Ave. The meeting is open to the public. Citizens may also attend via Zoom at https://us06web.zoom.us/j/86447226479. The full agenda is posted below.

This initial meeting will be more organizational in nature, with its seven resident members talking about the process by which they will determine whether Winthrop needs a mooring ordinance and, if so, what should be included in the ordinance.

The committee will deliver a report of its findings to the Town Manager no later than Aug. 30, 2024. The committee will present its findings to the Town Council for its consideration at the Council’s next scheduled meeting following receipt of the committee’s report. The Council will consider either adopting the Committee’s recommendations as presented or calling for a special referendum election for voters to consider the recommendations.

The video of each meeting will be posted afterward on the Town's YouTube channel
