Council updates rules for first time since 1985

The Winthrop Town Council on Aug. 7 approved the first update since 1985 to the rules by which it operates. The updated rules are posted at winthropmaine.org/councilrules. The rules govern Council operations ranging from the calling and notifying the public of meetings, voting, the election of the chair, debate rules, and committee assignments.
