Council repeals Mooring Ordinance

The Town Council on Thursday evening voted to repeal Winthrop's Mooring Ordinance and to appoint an ad-hoc advisory committee to review the ordinance’s language and to report back to the Council with recommendations within a year. The Council will consider the makeup of the ad-hoc committee during a special public workshop on June 27. Also at that meeting, Town Manager Anthony Wilson will return with a proposed ordinance regulating houseboats on Winthrop’s lakes. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Town Office.
