Where Do I Vote?  All residents of Winthrop vote at the Town Office, 17 Highland Avenue. Polling station for the November 7, 2023 Election will be held in the All Purpose Room at the Town Office, 17 Highland Avenue from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

How do I get an Absentee Ballot?  If you are unable to vote at the polls on Election Day, you may obtain an absentee ballot at the Town Office or by phone (207)377-7200. The absentee ballot may be voted in person at the Town Hall, mailed or delivered to the voter.  Absentee ballots for the November 2023 election are available until Thursday, November 2, 2023.  For more information, please contact the Town Office. How to Register to vote:  In order to register to vote, you must bring identification and something that shows a current Winthrop address. A driver's license or state identification card with the current address meets both criteria, otherwise, a checkbook or bill addressed to the applicant at the current address along with a social security card, birth certificate, or hunting/fishing license.
If you mail in your voter registration card, you must send proof of identity such as a photocopy of your driver's license or other photo ID or a utility bill with your name and address on it.
There is no cut-off date for registering to vote in person. If you want to register to vote by mail or through a voter registration drive, the cut-off date is the close of business on the 21st day before the election.  More information can be found here.
