Message Regarding Law Enforcement Fundraising Scam
We have been made aware of people receiving mail in their mailbox from the “Law Enforcement Officers Relief Fund, LEORF” The piece of mail claims to be an organization with ties to the “Officers in Winthrop” and this is their “Winthrop Area Annual Fund Drive.”
The Winthrop Police Department does not have ties to this organization and no member of the Winthrop Police Department has received any assistance from this organization.
As always, use caution when choosing who you donate to and do not provide any financial information.
