Town Manager

Anthony Wilson was appointed Winthrop Town Manager by the Winthrop Town Council, effective July 1, 2023. His role as Town Manager is to provide overall direction and administration of policies and programs established by the Town Council and Town Charter. He provides leadership and support to the staff in all departments to ensure the delivery of high-quality, customer-service oriented programs, while always being mindful of the impact on taxpaying citizens.

Prior to joining the Town of Winthrop, Wilson served as Director of Communications and Operations for 7 Lakes Alliance, a conservation organization based in Belgrade, where he served as Town Manager from 2019-22. He worked in municipal government for 12 years in Texas prior to moving to Maine, and he earned a master's degree in public administration from the University of Texas at Tyler.
