All first time motor vehicle registrations will be processed Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
SR22 Insurance Filers: Inform us of your status before we begin your registration. We will only be able to collect your excise tax and you will need to go to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles to complete your registration. This applies to new and renewals.
Titles: Titles for vehicles 15 years old and newer, you will need the back of the title signed by the previous owner/owners, current mileage and new owner information entered on the back of the title.
Transfers: You can only receive excise tax credit on a transfer if you have sold or transfered ownership of the vehicle to another party. Please fill out the back of the yellow registration you are taking the credit from and bring this copy with you to the Town Office.
Insurance Card: If you do not have a current insurance card, you can have your insurance company fax us a copy at (207) 377-7201.
Online Renewal Registration: You can renew your registration online by clicking on the Rapid Renewal car on our home page or by clicking on the State of Maine link below. You will need to have your current registration, mileage and insurance card available.

Vanity Plate Search & Order Online Service
The Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) is pleased to offer an online search and order service for vanity license plates. The online process is easy and payment by credit card is quick and secure. Once you complete this application, BMV will need to review the order. Please allow at least 30 calendar days for processing. You will receive your official registration and new plates in the mail.
